Have just started using Zip Backup to CD version 3.19.8.504, after using a 2001 version for some years, and I find that the scheduler now behaves in a most persistent and annoying manner. Am running it with Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005 with Rollup 2.
I have a couple of unattended backup job sets that I have scheduled to run monthly (full backups about 5GB) and daily (incremental, few MB up to 1GB, but hoping to get unattended catalogue based differentials one day-hint, hint)
When for some reason the computer is off for several days in a row (I may be on holiday, thus not changing any files) and is then turned on, the scheduler sequentially activates Zip Backup to CD to run it through every missed job. I concede there are circumstances where this is desirable, but mine is not one of them. I would prefer that if the computer is off, the software should assume that the scheduled backup job is not required.
Maybe there is a setting I could put in the [JobOnStart"> section of the .ini file, or perhaps the [settings"> section. Part of mine is copied below. The Technical Description file that shipped with the software does not give a description of all of the settings that appear in my .ini file.
[Settings">

Showhint=1

Failing the ability to get Zip Backup to CD’s scheduler to behave, would I be better to use Windows Task Scheduler?
Thank you, in anticipation…
