Subject: Split large file |

I tried the 'Split large files' option. But when I tried to restore the backup via the 'Open File to Restore From' menu item, the splitted files, i.e. '20041118004C.z01', aren't visible in 'Open Zip File' dialog, then I cannot restore the files. The '.zip' files are visible, then the problem could be simply on the dialog file filter, if any.
I'm evaluating the Zip Backup to CD version 3.18.7.408 on Windows XP Professional SP2.

Hi,
But you know that only the last Zip on a splitted Zip-Arciv
contains the zip-directory. have you tried with the
last generated file?
When you want to restore a file from a spanned Zip archiv using Winzip you, also have to start with the last created archiv file!!!

You are correct!
I know very well how old original PkZip (and its companions) works. Long time ago, before PkZip, I wrote a compatible zip utility for unix systems with split file function inside. I was confused by Zip Backup to CD because it don't show any warning message. However, I think that is useful to recognize spit files and warn the user to insert the last one.
Thanks you for reopening my eyes :-)
