Subject: backup a windows server from a workstation not logged in

can anyone tell me where all the "run as a service" security settings need to be changed so that i can make the workstation running the backup, which IS NOT logged into the domain, able to connect as a service so the backups will run. currently, without security access, i get a "no files selected for backup" condition as expected.
the source of the data files to backup are on the server.
the destination is a workstation that is not logged onto the server.
